• The Saint-Philibert Abbey Church Tournus and the historic town.
• Chateau de Cormatin.
• Brancion medieval citadel.
• The historic towns of Macon and Chalon-Sur-Saone.
• Autun old town with remains of Roman amphitheartre.
• Berze Le Chatel in the Lamartin's Valley near Solutre.
• Roche Solutre. the prehistoric site and interesting climb.

To quote from the tourist information Southern Burgundy is a Gourmet's Dream. Home of the famous Charolais Cattle and Sheep and the Bresse poultry there is an emphisis on local seasonal produce. Other local specialites include goat cheese, fresh water fish, "escargot" and of course the local wines.

• Caves Des Vignerons Buxy (also in St-Gengoux-le-National). A cooperative with a good selecton of inexpensive local wines.
• Domaine Guillot-Broux, Cruzille. Very good organic wines.
• Domaine de le Combe de Bray, Henri Lafarge. A dedicated small producer.
• Vins Auvigue, Le Moulin du Pont, Charnay-les-Macon, Noted for white wines including Pouilly-Fuisse & Solitre but Bourgogne Rouge is good too.
• Domaine Les Maladieres, Charnay Burgy. Some of the best Cremant de Bourgogne you will ever drink. 
• Domaine de L'Echelette La Chapelle-sous-Brancion. Wine ranging from strangly sharp white Burgundy to a desert wine from late picked grapes.
• Chateau de Pizay. Not so local (about one hours drive south) but one of the best Beaujolais Domaines and the reason we first came to this part of France.
