Our first planed trip of 2009 was to UK because our daughter Pamela was expecting our first grandaughter in
April. Barbara insisted in being in England for the two weeks each side of the due birth date. As we had to take and collect
Barbara's mother to her sister on Jersey we were away from home for about six weeks returning only briefly to check
on the re-roofing work and pick up wine for England.
Thanks to a brief visit from Barbara,sister Gisela and
her brother Rainer and wife Claudia who stayed to look after their mother, we managed to get three nights away on our own
in October.
Neither of us had realy explored the South of France and arranged an all to brief tour covering Avignon,
Carcassonne and returning accorss country via Clermont-Ferrand.

2009 was a busy year for travelling with no less than six trips to Uk and Jersey.
In July we visited Jon's
aunt in Bournemouth to move her from her residential home to a new nursing home. It was difficult to fit this trip in because
we were booked to stay in Germany with Barbara,s brothers and sister from the beginning of August. We had to travel directly
to Frankfurt with our car fully loaded with the aunt's furnature and possessions where Barbara,s brother
and his wife thankfully drove us to the Franconian area (East of Frakfurt).
